

Robert (Bob) Wade Rudolph, aged 76. passed away after a brief illness on February 23, 2026. He is survived by his wife Sharon Sensenich, children Virginia Rudolph, Eva Moberly and Robert Rudolph, Jr.; his stepchildren Aimee Taylor and Nick McCarthy; by his siblings Carol (Alan) Pollack, Paula Tonger, and Joan (Dick) Seibert and by multiple grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents Robert Walter Rudolph and Florence (Kitty) (Higgins) Rudolph.
Bob was born in Groton, CT. but lived the vast majority of his youth in New London, CT. He could be seen on the rope swing, on the raft at Ocean Beach, riding his bike all over town and delivering The New London Day to his customers. During his time at New London High School, Bob was a state-level champion in cross country and track.
Following his graduation in 1968, he enlisted in the Navy where he was assigned to Cuba in the aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis and then to submarines monitoring the border of Vietnam.
After the Navy, Bob attended the University of Florida where he was a valued member of the cross-country and track teams. Bob graduated in 1976 with a B.S. in Business. His first job was with the Federal Department of Labor where he worked on auditing and analyzing Census data. After several years, he transferred to the IRS as an auditor for high income individuals and business returns. After over 25 years
with the federal government, Bob started his own accounting and tax return preparation business.
Bob retired to Apopka, FL. in 2020 where he enjoyed going to the gym with his sister Paula, sitting in the sun with his music playing nearby and following Florida Gator sports.
Bob had a great sense of humor and was known to the family as a big tease and prankster. He also had a love for dogs, especially Gidget, enjoyed raising rabbits for sale to local families as pets, and could be found caring for feral cats near his home, where he became very attached to Wesley.
