Ruby Kelly Conner

Ruby Lee Conner (Kelly), 80, of Orlando, FL went home on May 16, 2016. She was born to the late William Carlus and Susie Antonia Kelly in Orlando on December 31, 1935. She met her husband of 61 years, Airman Leroy Conner, at the Coliseum skating rink in 1954. Ruby told her girlfriend he would make some girl a great husband, and he called his mother and said he just met his wife. Together they shared many wonderful memories and raised a family of 5 children. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in her passing by her sisters Dora Hopkins, Lily Waters, Mary Blackburn, Gladys Skidmore, and Addie Slaymaker. Ruby is survived by her husband, Leroy; children, Brenda Blair (Bill), Cheryl Rhoden (Wayne), Tom Conner (Fran), Randy Conner (Sandy), Kelly Conner (Ouida); brothers, Bill Kelly (Myrtle) and Alton Kelly (Irene); grandchildren, Kim, Kristi, Jeremy, Carissa, Courtney, Nick, Christa, Briana, Dylan, Spencer, and Holden; 20 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at 2pm at Baldwin Fairchild West Altamonte, 90 Weathersfield Ave., Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. Service will begin at 2:45pm. Interment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka, FL.
