Vera had two sisters: Nona and Jessie and brothers: Lloyd and Leo Edward. When Vera was just fourteen years old she was introduced to her devoted husband of nearly seventy years. They met at a picnic on the beach and subsequently married. They were blessed with three beautiful children: Gary (Janet) Curtis, Jill (Darrell) Kopf, Kandyce Webster (Dan Pereyda), as well as eight grandchildren: Angela Nash, Amy (Chris) Dimarco, Anne Rue (Eric Fields), Laura (Dale) Rice, Bethany Kopf, Ashley (Jimmy) Ladd, Greg (Carlie) Webster, Katie (Zach) Myers and 21 great grandchildren: Casey Noble, Cortney (Ryan) Wren, Aaron Nash, Mary Nash, Tanner Rice, Alyssa Rice, Gavin Bussard, Cristian Dimarco, Amanda Dimarco, Lawton Rue, Palmer Rue, Holt Rue, Jackson Webster, twins: Autumn and Ava Webster, Antietam Ladd, Gunner Ladd, Knox Myers, George Myers, Felicity Myers; and one great great grandchild: Ceagan Douglas Noble, and her nieces Gwen and Sharen, and nephew Lynn. Vera was predeceased by her siblings, great granddaughter, Isabelle Anne Rue and her beloved husband C. W. Curtis. Vera remained very close to C.W.’s sister, Lillian. She had a very special relationship with her nieces Gwen and Sharen, and always looked forward to their visits. Vera was an excellent seamstress and made all of her own outfits throughout her life. In addition, she loved to crochet and made all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren beautiful afghan blankets. She had a passion for flowers and especially loved African violets. Vera loved the beach and for many years she and C.W. would spend the winter months vacationing in New Smyrna, FL. where Vera would take long walks looking for pretty shells. Vera loved to cook and knew everyone’s favorite dishes: her salmon cakes, and French toast will go down in the record books! Vera always had a smile for you and was dressed beautifully in clothes that she had made for herself. Vera was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She truly is the loss of a wonderful woman who loved so many. Vera enriched our lives with her loving nature and beautiful smile. She will be missed dearly, but will live forever in our hearts.
