Jack was a longtime resident of Amarillo, where he owned Turlington-Jones Trucking Co. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific as an airplane mechanic. Jack retired in 2000 and became a gentleman rancher. He was preceded in death by two sons, Roy Jones, in 2000, and Dwayne Jones, in 2010. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Laverta Jones; a daughter, Jane Quick and husband Len of Dallas; a daughter-in-law, Maria Jones of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Shawn Jones, Shanda Windham, Cory Jones, Kimberly Persefield and Ambre Jones, all of Amarillo, and Kelly West, Shane Jones and Paul Bell, all of Dallas; 15 great-grandchildren, Josh, Shelbey, Kurt, David, Holden, Kody, Hunter, Lori, Beau, Colby, Caidence, Haley, Zoey, Jacie and Sebastian; and a sister, Louise Fullwood of Canton.
