

Barton Leslie Wilson, 64 went into the arms of his Lord on April 17, 2013. Barton was born in Alva, OK on March 5, 1949, to loving parents Bennie and Bette Wilson. Barton graduated from Tascosa High School in 1969 and attended Amarillo College. Barton and Sharon Fay Craig of Spearman were married on June 23, 1984. They have lived happily in Amarillo for 29 years and have enjoyed so many wonderful and fun times together. Barton was employed with Western Data and then moved to be employed with Graham Data for 23 years. Barton and Sharon have been devoted members of South Georgia Church of the Nazarene where Barton served on the board of the church. Barton enjoyed his childhood, played Kids Inc softball and was a member of the Boy Scouts. Barton and his family enjoyed camping together and took many trips, including Disneyland and the Pacific Coast. He excelled in trivia and whenever playing with friends and family members, everyone always wanted Barton on their team. He would play along with “Jeopardy” in the evenings on television, and would pretty much be the winner each time. Barton knew most of the rock and roll era songs, and who sung them and usually what album they were from. He could remember the old TV shows and who starred in each of them also. Barton was very “tech”savvy” and enjoyed all of the latest in technology gadgets. He loved sports and was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Texas Ranger fan. Barton was preceded in death by his grandparents, H.O. and Mabel Wilson, and Will and Lena Schramling, and his father Bennie Wilson.
Survivors include his devoted loving wife of 29 years, Sharon Wilson, his adoring mother, Bette Wilson and brother and sister-in-law Brian and Salli Wilson of Mountain City, TX and numerous cousins and wonderful family of in-laws.
A special thanks to several people who lovingly helped Barton over the years,Darlene and Elmer Chandler, Charlie and JoAnn Graham and Sharon King, Angela and Carl Looten, Judy and don Collins, Suzanne and Greg Mulinax, and Megan and Emory Shier. Barton loved the staff at Kirkland Court and the feeling was very mutual. They have laughed and cried with Barton through so much this last year, and made the time shared there a comfortable and loving atmosphere.
