Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 27, 2015 at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Home Pioneer Chapel with Pastor Jerry Davey officiating.
Billy was born August 13, 1933 in San Angelo, Texas to Sam Houston and Gladys Marie Chandler. The family moved to Amarillo in an ice storm when Billy was 7 years old. He graduated from Amarillo High in 1951 and joined the Marine Corps where he served his country in Korea. After 7 years he joined the Army Airborne and Special Forces where he served in Viet Nam. Billy retired after 22 years in the military as a Major. He moved back to Amarillo to be close to his buddies and family.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Dr. Robert Chandler and Sam Houston Chandler, Jr.
Billy is survived by 3 sons, David and Jeff Chandler of Ca. and Billy Chandler of Texas; and a brother, Dr. Richard Chandler and wife Mary of Amarillo.
