Calvin L. Floyd passed away July 4, 2019. He was born April 28, 1930 in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Lennie McCay officiating. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married his loving wife Billye on September 9, 1977 and they were married until her passing on January 28, 2005. Calvin was the kindest, sweetest, caring and loving man you’d ever meet. His family was very important to him. He was an avid Texas Rangers Fan as well as a Lions Club Member, in which he served the less fortunate in his community. His vegetable gardens were his passion. Many summers were spent in his gardens, which were very bountiful! He owned and operated Floyd’s Automotive and also owned a mowing company. He retired from the City of Amarillo after many years of service there. Calvin was a very quiet man, but had an incredible sense of humor, he was always quick to help anybody in need. Whether that was his expertise in Auto Mechanics, or helping an elderly neighbor get a project done. The world has lost an incredible man.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Billye; and his three sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his children Connie Howard and husband Bob; Emerald Floyd and wife Tina; Terry Floyd and wife Pam; Sharalynn Horton; James Biggs and wife Bea. As well as grandchildren Nathan, Alex, Emerald Jr, Evan and Jonathan.
