

Dave Coronado, 91, of Amarillo, Texas, peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on February 13, 2025. Born on December 14, 1933, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Joe and Florinda Coronado, Dave lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to his family and community. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Dave’s family meant everything to him. He was known as a caring, fun-loving man. Always looking for new adventures, often going out of his way to help others. As a father, he took great joy in coaching his son's sports teams. He was always teaching, and supporting his family, creating lasting memories along the way. His grandchildren, and great grandchildren were especially dear to him, and he cherished the time spent with them. He was an amazing guitar player who enjoyed playing for his family and friends.
Dave was a true pioneer in his field, being the first Hispanic member of IBEW local 602 which he was a member for almost 60 years. He started and successfully ran an Electrical Contracting business for 20 years. His skill and work ethic earned him the respect of those around him. After he retired, he spent many years building and tinkering with projects, always striving to create and improve.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Florinda Coronado, his beloved daughter, Lizzie Coronado, and his sister, Nora Schneider.
Left to honor his memory are his loving wife of 69 years, Jessie Coronado; his children, Spike Coronado and wife Vicky, and Greg Coronado and wife Tara; his grandchildren, Stefanie Gonzales and her husband Marcus, Duane Coronado and his wife Inna, Taylor Coronado, and Chase Coronado; his great-grandchildren, Ethan Gonzales, Mia Gonzales, and Daniel Coronado; along with many other loving family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life is planned at Trinity Fellowship Church 5000 Hollywood Rd. Amarillo, Texas 79118 Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2pm. Please have all floral arrangements delivered to the church.
