Deb was born on July 30, 1952, in Memphis, TX, to Melvin and Mary Batson Blevins.
Growing up she was a member of Faith Baptist Church and after graduating from Caprock High School in 1971, she soon moved to Mesquite, Texas, where she attended Eastfield Community College. She met and fell in love with James Doering. They married on October 2, 1990, in Seven Points, Texas. She retired from Lucent Technologies in 2000. They lived in Kemp, Texas until they found their dream home “fixer-upper” in October of 2011 and moved to Guadalupita, NM. Where she helped raise her grandchildren and did volunteer work for the Sierra Bonita-Rincon Volunteer Fire Dept.
She endeared everyone with her since of humor and could make anyone laugh. She loved her family, friends, the beauty of the mountains, music, animals of all sorts and miniature things.
She lived her live without regrets.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Blevins of Amarillo.
Her husband, James Doering of Guadalupita also passed away on December 5, 2020.
Survivors include her daughter Amber McKown of Eagle Nest; her daughter Stephanie Thomas of Guadalupita; a stepson, John Doering and his wife Karen of Grand Blanc, MI; a stepdaughter, Angie Herbst and her husband James of O’Fallon, MO.; her mother, Mary Blevins of Amarillo; her brother, Mike Blevins and wife Judy of Amarillo; her sister, Karen Martin and her husband Tom of Amarillo; her sister, Melissa Mata and her husband John of Fort Worth; her brother, John Mark Blevins of Amarillo; and
eleven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials be to The Sierra Bonita-Ricon Volunteer Fire Department, #15 Co. Rd. A044, Guadalupita, NM 87722.
