Dorothy was born in Clarendon, Texas on May 18, 1929 to Joseph Edward and Maude Lamb. The family relocated to Amarillo in 1939. She genuinely loved people, especially her family. For the better part of 20 years, she sold AVON and won many sales recognition awards. Among her many other talents, she was a pastry chef. She had a deep love for the Lord, and celebrated that love as a longtime member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. She married her husband Gerhard in 1962. She enjoyed many things in life, but none near as much as the time spent with family.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Foley, brother William “Bill” Lamb, husband Gerhard Jurkat, daughter in law Barbara Junell; and grandson DJ Junell. Those left to cherish her memory are her son David Junell of Amarillo, daughter Caren Ogg and husband Jimmy of Amarillo; grandchildren Shawna Scarr and husband Arthur, Jamie Humphrey and husband Richard, Danielle Williams and husband J. Mike, and Joseph Junell all of Amarillo; a niece Vernice Wilson and husband Bob of Waco, five great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
