Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at South Lawn Baptist Church with Pastor Gregg Kinch officiating.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East.
Fred was born in Savoy to Charlie and Evelyn Brown on March 8, 1935. He attended school in Lelia Lake and married Janice Lamberson in 1954. The couple moved to Amarillo in 1956 and Fred worked as a postal clerk for the U.S. Post Office for 31 years. Janice passed away in April 1984. He then married Hester Mays and continued his retirement here in Amarillo. Hester passed away in 2010. Fred loved woodworking, fishing, yardwork and motorcycling. Most recently Fred volunteered at the Harrington Cancer Center popping popcorn for the visitors and staff. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Janice Brown; his second wife Hester Brown; a brother Charles Brown; and a son-in-law Tom Reed.
Fred is survived by 5 daughters, Debra Russell and husband Monte of Panhandle, Angelia Osborn, Tommie Brown and husband Curtis, Ginger Reed, and Janet Stewart all of Amarillo; a brother Ray Brown of Alamogordo, NM; 2 sisters, Helen Jones of Madera, CA and Melba Mills and husband J.C. of Amarillo; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
