Garnet Harlow

Garnet Harlow, 89 of Amarillo passed away March 18, 2013. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Garnet was born March 19, 1923 in Cheraw, Colorado to Robert and Mary Hoover. She married Harold Harlow on January 31, 1954 in LaJunta, Colorado. She was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife and mother. She also worked some for the Hospital and a photographer in LaJunta. Garnet loved to crochet, paint, sew and was an excellent cook. Her greatest joy was taking care of her grandchildren. Garnet will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Harlow; two brothers and a sister. Garnet is survived by her son, Howard Harlow and wife Janetta of Amarillo; daughter, Helen Harlow of Amarillo; brother, Floyd Hoover and wife Bonnie of Billings, Montana; sister, Sarah Wilson of Cheraw, Colorado; grandchildren, Angie Baldwin, Bryce Harlow and Mason Harlow and wife Leann all of Amarillo and Amy Abbasov and husband Mikail of Bryan; also by her great-grandchildren, Haydon, Jude and Oaklee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
