

Johnnie Lou Littlejohn, 87, of Amarillo passed away August 26, 2022. Services will be held Friday September 2, 2022 at 10:00am at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday September 1, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
Johnnie Lou was born on June 30, 1935, in Childress, TX to Noah and Ethel Richardson. She moved to Amarillo with her family at the age of 17.
Johnnie Lou worked as a cashier at Hagerman’s Cafeteria in Amarillo. Her sparkling personality and smile caught the attention of the ladies at the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, which jumpstarted her career as a long-distance telephone operator. She married her husband, Perry Littlejohn, on November 16, 1963. They moved to Chicago, where Johnnie helped support Perry as he went to school. After returning to Amarillo, Johnnie Lou became a full-time housewife and devoted mother.
Johnnie Lou was a strong woman who endured many years of pain without complaint. She was slow to anger and a fierce protector of her family. Her willingness to sacrifice to provide for her family will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband Perry Littlejohn, Sister Eva Dale Van Winkle; 2 sons Perry Littlejohn and wife Lisa of Muscatine IA, Ronnie Littlejohn of Amarillo Tx; 1 daughter Dee Ann Bural; 6 grandchildren LaShawn Phillips and husband Bo, Toni McMahan and husband Clayton, Tiffany Campbell and Husband Nathan, Sam Warren and wife Ashli, Jennifer Littlejohn and husband Max, Jared Littlejohn and wife Emily; 13 great-grandchildren Cory Sampson and wife Darian, Lexi Gibson and husband Jake, Cadence Phillips, Carson Phillips, Ronnie Tucker and wife Claudia, Thomas Tucker, Trinity Payton, Chandler Campbell, Barrett Campbell, Avery Littlejohn, Reed Warren, Fisher Warren, Josie Warren; 8 great-great-grandchildren Raylen Tucker, Hendrick Tucker, Sarah Tucker, Samuel Tucker, Ollie Sampson, Asher Sampson, Bishop Gibson, Ivy Gibson; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Noah and Ethel Richardson; 4 brothers Bill Richardson, Jack Richardson, Buster Richardson, Jasper Richardson; 1 Sister Charlene Harris.
