Konetta was born on April 14th 1954 in Amarillo,Texas to Henry and Juanita Pace. She passed away July 16th, 2020 at 66 years old in Amarillo. Konetta lived in Amarillo all of her life, she graduated from Palo Duro High in 1972. She was a vivacious and humorous character all of her life; strongly opinionated and always carried a wicked smart sense of humor of which she never let go. She married to Rick Tooley briefly in 1973-74 and had a son- Jere Paul. Known for her sometimes chaotic and restless demeanor, she traveled, saw many sights, loved Las Vegas, partied like a goddess, and above all was an amazing mother and friend. She was also her mother’s main care taker until she died in 1985. She was the lead waitress or bartender in several establishments from the 70’s to the 90’s. She had a zillion friends and people that loved her. Among her oldest friends were Vonnie, Donna and Wanda. In the early 2000’s she began to work for what is now the Haven House – a rehabilitation center for women suffering drug and alcohol addiction, abuse, and other challenging circumstances. She counseled and helped so many in her 13 years there. She retired in 2018 with many new friends from that world. Versed in politics and current events, although her health was declining over the last 15 or so years, she always kept her mind sharp with trivia and game shows and she was always looking things up online that she didn’t know before. She was a Trivia Crack fanatic and showed in global rankings having correctly answered over 462,000 questions! Konetta will be sorely missed by her son and his girlfriend Kat and many, many of his friends that she always claimed as her own kids. The family suggests any donations being generously made to assist the animal charity of your choice.
