

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, May 22, 2015 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Pastor Linvell Tisdale officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Directors.
Leon W. Palmer was born February 20, 1924 in Coffeeville, Kansas to John and Essie Palmer. The family moved around in his younger years. Leon worked in a shipyard and that is where he met his wife to be, Audie Keeran. The couple were married in April 1944. Leon joined the US Army on June 6, 1945 and served his country in the occupation forces in Japan. Leon was very inventive and creative. He loved carpentry, fishing and building items with whatever was available at hand. Leon was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Audie, two sisters and two brothers.
Leon is survived by five sons, Dennis Palmer and wife Barbara of Gary, Danny Palmer, Earl Palmer and wife Margorie, Kevin Palmer and wife Rosie all of Amarillo and Jay Palmer and wife Jennifer of Irving; a daughter, Linda Hise and husband Nathan of Dallas; two brothers, Jack and Roy Wardlow of Shamrock; a sister, Mary Burton of Amarillo, eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Wounded Warrior Foundation..
