She moved to Nazareth in 1956, Dimmitt in 1970 and made her home in Amarillo in 2001. She married the love of her life Pedro Gonzalez and together they shared 46 wonderful years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved playing Christian Spanish Music and playing bingo. She was a born again Christian and was a member of Oasis Southwest Baptist Church. She never forgot that one Sunday after her husband passed away, she was coming down the balcony at church and Rusty Williams said “Here comes Mrs. America”. It might sound trivial to us, but it brought her so much joy in the years after that. In her latter days she loved it when her grandkids would come into the house and say “Hello” to her first. She loved it when her youngest great- granddaughter would FaceTime her, that just her heart so happy. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Chosen: PO Box 50600, Amarillo, TX 79159.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Rosalba Villarreal; Alejandra White and Pete Gonzalez and wife Lupe. Nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
