Melvin Olinger, 75 of Amarillo passed away March 11, 2014. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Melvin was born June 14, 1938 in Pueblo, Colorado to Clarence and Anna Marie Olinger. He served two tours in the U.S. Navy before moving to Amarillo. Here he raised his kids and created many memories and made many friends. He will be greatly missed by all especially by Jackie who tirelessly accompanied him to many dances and parties as well as comforted him during his illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Olinger. Survivors include his siblings, Eldon Olinger, Marilyn Baland, Carole Finnigan and David Culbreath; his children, Glen Olinger and Dawn Barrett; and also by his grandchildren, Ryan, Jordan, Preston, Jena, Michael, Connor and Allyson.
