Meriem was born on September 13, 1929 to Chester and Fern (Delano) Nicholes on the family farm in Rolla, Kansas. She attended school in Hugoton, Kansas where she graduated in 1947. She received her BA degree in computer science from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana.
She resided in Anderson where she was Copy Editor at Warner Press until 1969. She then moved to Denver, Colorado where she was employed as a secretary at her church until she retired and moved to Guymon, Oklahoma to care for ailing mother.
In 2011, Meriem suffered a stroke. From that time until her passing, she was a resident at Park Central in Amarillo; where she received the most loving and gracious care.
Meriem was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles L. Nicholes of El Paso, and sister Brenda Nicholes of Cleveland, Ohio. Those left to cherish her memories are sister Delores Brenton and husband Jim of Amarillo, and Charlsye Oblander and husband Jim of Goodwell, Oklahoma; niece Rhonda Ford, nephew Doug Ford and wife Tawan all of Amarillo, nephews Mike Oblander and wife Brandi of Norman, OK, Chet and wife Robin Oblander of Guymon, OK, and niece Susan Wikle and husband Artic of Wasilla, Alaska, as well as many beloved friends and care givers at Park Central.
