February 3, 1952 in Lubbock, Texas to Marvin and Janice Stroope. He was raised in Smyer.
He married his soulmate Leah Vaughn on June 30, 1974, and together they raised their two
sons. Mike was a hardworking man who always lent a hand to any and everyone. He was a
man that was proud and devoted to his family. He loved going to watch his grandkids sporting
events; he was very proud of each and every one of them. He was a kind funny man with a
dry sense of humor who enjoyed raising horses and restoring his hot rod. He retired from
ranching in 2010 and worked for the city of Amarillo since then. He was a man full of life and
lived life to the fullest. His love for the Lord was evident with all who met him. Mike will be
missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Leah; his sons Justin Stroope and wife Sabrina and
Jason Stroopeand wife Rebecca. His brother Mark Stroope and Linette; his grandchildren:
Jordan, Conner, Kenzie,Hayden, Hunter and Haddie. Along with many loving friends.
