Mickey Bird, longtime Amarillo resident, died February 21, 2014. Mickey was adopted by Rufus and Cleo McDowal and married the love of her life, Roy Bird, in 1948. Mickey owned and operated her own real estate business, “Mickey Bird, Realtors” from 1962 to 2003. Roy and Mickey were members of Westview Christian Church in Amarillo for many years. After Roy’s death, Mickey moved to Keller to be closer to family. In 2007, Mickey converted to Catholicism.

Mickey was preceded in death by her husband, Roy who died in 2003;

Mickey leaves behind 2 daughters, Regina Bird and Laurie Bollig and husband Randy; 2 grandchildren, Katherine Bollig and Chris Bollig and wife Denise and 5 great-grandchildren, Ava, Blaise, Gianna, Cecelia and Jude Bollig.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Loreto House, Denton Texas
