Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Chapel of Memories at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in East Mausoleum in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.
Mr. Perez was born Aug. 14, 1930, in Mission. He spent 21 years in the Air Force and was a Korean War veteran who retired with the rank of master sergeant. He went on to teach ROTC at Palo Duro High School, where he was named Teacher of the Year in 1974.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lilly Perez.
Survivors include four sons, David Perez of Fort Worth, Miguel “Mike” Perez III, Richard “Ricky” Perez and Albert Perez, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Norma Jean Andrews of Amarillo; two brothers, Fito Perez of San Antonio and Beto Perez of Mission; three sisters, Norma Martinez of Fort Worth, Delia Perez of McAllen and Manuela Vega of Mission; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
