Miguel S Sosa

Our beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather left us to follow Jesus on Sunday, May 7, 2017. Mike passed away in Amarillo, TX, surrounded by his loved ones and a tribute of Mike’s life may be found at www.andersonbethany.com where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for his family.

Mike was born July 17, 1948, in Malaga, NM, to his beloved parents, Raymond and Lupe Salmon Sosa of Roswell, NM. He was raised in the Carlsbad, NM, area and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, then went on to serve in the US Navy. He married the love of his life, Mary Valdez, on March 20, 1971, and together, they had one son, Eric Michael. Mike was a very compassionate person who loved to joke around and never met a stranger. He had a nickname for each of his loved ones, and if anyone was in trouble, he had a prayer or scripture from the Bible to lend gentle guidance. Mike will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. Services will be held in Amarillo, TX.

He is survived by his adoring wife, Mary Valdez Sosa; loving son, Eric (Machelle) Sosa; grandson, Michael (Bayli) Sosa; granddaughters: N’asia Sosa and Kristiana Sosa; great-grandchildren: Waydan Sosa, Epiphany Sosa, and Lilyanna Sosa all of Amarillo, TX; parents: Raymond (Lupe) Sosa of Roswell, NM; brothers and sisters: Lydia (Ramiro) Trujillo, Robert (Rosa) Sosa, Raymond (Sally) Sosa, Mary Sosa, Nadine Hurtado; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Additional survivors include in-laws: Nano Valdez, Joe Valdez, Richard Lucero, Virgil Lucero, David Lucero, Valerie Lucero, and many others.

He was preceded in death by grandparents: Nick & Isabel Sosa and Espitacion & Clarista Salmon; a remarkable aunt/grandma: Manuela Garcia and her son’s; in-laws: Samuel & Josephine Valdez, Paul & Anita Lucero, Leonarda Lucero, and Dan Valdez; and a very special niece: Betty Joe Lynda Trujillo.
