Raymond Tony Fajardo Sr, 68 years old, born November 21, 1956, gained his wings on March 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Raymond (Ray as he was known to many) married the love of his life Maria Socorro Cortez 46 years ago on December 23,1978. Ray attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School, Bowie Middle School, Sanborn Elementary and graduated from Caprock High School in May 1976.
Ray was a hardworking man and throughout his life he was employed by Santa Fe Railroad (Bridge Bldg. Department), City of Amarillo as a diesel mechanic and CNS Pantex as a Production Technician retiring in February 2021, Ray enjoyed buying and restoring classic cars which he would turn around and sell them never becoming too attached because as he would say "If the price is right, it's time to sell and buy another one", so the hunt for his next project began. Ray also enjoyed doing his Indian art from carving, painting and decorating cow heads.
Ray was in the process of working on his 1973 Cutlass Supreme, 1964 Galaxy 500, 1967 Calente and his favorite 1971 Camero and he was proudly getting a 2004 Dodge Ram ready for his grandson Caleb. Ray loved the Lord Jesus and throughout his battle with cancer these last few months, he never gave up and never lost his faith. He attended Power Church and when the time came that he was not physically able to go, he would watch the service online. Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling to Santa Fe NM, Santa Rosa NM, Albuquerque NM, Wichita KS, San Antonio TX and Oklahoma to visit family. He was always making sure to keep in touch with family and friends.
He was proud of his roots and the legacy his parents left behind. He was a jokester and was always pulling pranks on people. He never lost his sense of humor, even in his last days on this earth. His smile and his laugh were contagious, and his wife was always telling him that he could make a rock talk to him.
He enjoyed spending holidays and special occasions with his family, hanging out at Walmart and the flea market so he could run into people and talk. He was loved by so many a will be greatly missed.
