Robert E. Moore “Bob” passed away peacefully in the Thomas Creek VA Medical Center “Welcome Home Lane Unit” on December 3, 2018 in Amarillo at the age of 81. Memorial service will be Friday, December 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors 5400 Bell St. With Reverend Jim Smith officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bob’s life.
Bob was born on September 19, 1937 in Amarillo, to Clifford and Pattie Moore. He graduated from Amarillo High in 1956. He married Annette in 1959. He begun working for Furr Food and retired from the US Postal Office with 32 years of service. Bob was a US Army Veteran of four years in Special Forces and ten years with the Army Reserve. He was also a Master Mason Lodge 731 and a member of St. Stephens Methodist Church in Amarillo. He had many memories of his military service and loved sharing his stories, and working on family genealogy. The family of Bob wishes to give the Thomas Creek VA Medical Center a special thank you to all the staff of the Welcome Home Lane Unit, for providing extraordinary loving care. In lieu of flowers the family request donations in Bob’s honor to your favorite charity, or to the Thomas Creek VA Medical Center “Welcome Home Lane Center”.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Pattie, stepmother Ruth, granddaughter Trisa Farrow, sister Elaine, brother Clifford and sister-in-law Dottie all of Amarillo.
He is survived by his wife Annette of 58 years, daughter Michele Farrow and husband Steve of Santa Fe, Texas; Guy Moore and wife Mary of Amarillo, daughter Shell Goslee and husband Tim of Corona California. Sister-in-laws Yvonne Bittick and Irene Downey. Eight grandkids, thirteen great-grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews.
