Robert retired from the Postal Service after 30 years. He enjoyed traveling, and driving fast to get where he was going quickly! Spending time with his family and grandkids was very important to him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made in his name to Meals on Wheels or to High Plains Children’s Home.

He is survived by his wife: Frances Smith; son Garry Smith and wife Delynda of Amarillo; daughter Gay Burks and husband David of Amarillo. Six grandchildren; Mandie Blanchard and husband Mike of Canyon; Copen Smith and wife Alicia of Amarillo; Jason Burks and wife Haley of Canyon; Ty Smith and wife Lacy of Balmorhea, Texas; Ryder Smith of Amarillo; Flint Smith of Amarillo; 9 great-grandchildren.
