

Russell Curtis Ball, 35, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Russell was born Nov. 24, 1978, in Amarillo to Curtis and Karen Ball. He was raised in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. He worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway and also for Bell Helicopter.
Russell’s most proud accomplishment was being a co-founder of SEVA gym which was a mixed martial arts specialized gym. He actually participated in several MMA fights himself and he loved it. He loved to work with all the youth that would come to work out there. Russell enjoyed playing golf and loved traveling and adventure. There was never a dull day with Russell, he just loved life. He followed his own path, meeting many friends and interesting people along the way. He will be forever missed by everyone who knew him and loved him. Survivors include his parents, Curtis and Karen Ball of Amarillo; a sister, Suzanne Easley and husband Brian of Frisco; his grandmother, Patricia Heyman of Amarillo; an auntie, Linda Heyman of Las Vegas; an uncle, Charlie Ball of Hart; a nephew, Mason Easley of Frisco; a niece, Grace Easley of Frisco; and his cousins, Nick Crowell and wife Lindsey and their family of Tallahassee, Fla., Callie Meis and husband Dan and their family of Watertown, Wis., and Chris Ball and family of Denton.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or a favorite charity.
