Steven Douglas Roe was born on October 10, 1970, to Sam and Kay Roe in Plainview, Texas. From the very beginning, Steve lived life fast and full; driven by passion, curiosity, and an unmistakable spark that drew people to him wherever he went.
Throughout his life, Steve called many places home, living across Texas from the Panhandle down to Austin. No matter where he landed, he never stayed a stranger for long. Steve had a rare gift for connection; it didn’t matter where he was, he would always find someone who knew him, loved him, or quickly became both. Friends often turned into family, and he had more of both than he could count.
Steve’s greatest loves were fast cars, a good game of pool, and above all, his girls and grandkids. He wore many hats throughout his life; running various companies, selling cars, fixing cars, and working on phones. If something was broken, Steve was the person you called. And even if he didn’t have the answer right away, you could count on him to try.
His daughters were the center of his world. Talking daily, showing up whenever he could, and striving to be the best father possible were not obligations to him, they were priorities. Being “Dad” was his most important role, and he carried it with pride, devotion, and deep love.
Second only to his daughters, and perhaps tied for first, were his three grandchildren. Charlotte, the first grandchild, swept in and effortlessly stole the spotlight from everyone. Eli, the first boy in the family, captured Steve’s heart from the moment he was born. And Kai, the sweetest little firecracker, loved nothing more than listening to his grandad talk. Each of them brought him immense joy and a love that knew no bounds.
While it is impossible to fully capture the value of a man’s life in a few paragraphs, the love Steve gave and the life he lived will carry on forever through his family, his friends, and all those lucky enough to have known him.
Steve is survived by his daughters; Ashlei Roe, fiancé Andrew Presley, and son Elijah. Taylor Roe, and son Crash. Alli Roe, significant other Taylon Knorpp, and daughter Charlotte. Samantha Roe, significant other Braedyn Harley, and son Kaison. His beloved dog, and best friend, Peyton Claire and many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Kay Roe, and best friend Todd Duncan.
