Timothy L. Woith (76), of Amarillo, Texas, passed away in his home on December 21, 2023. Tim was born on October 19, 1947 in Bloomington, Illinois, to Floyd and Mildred Woith and later his family headed west to California where he graduated high school and later in life moved to Amarillo with his parents. He retired from the VA hospital as a locksmith for 17 years here in Amarillo in 2009.
At 18, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a proud Marine having spent most of his enlisted time in Vietnam. He was Honorably Discharged from the USMC on July 4, 1974. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one star, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon. He was very proud to be a Marine and to serve his country.
He was a kind, fun and generous soul. He loved music and his old time movies. He embraced life with gusto and he enjoyed camping and the great outdoors with his two daughters, but his greatest enjoyment was getting on his Harley and heading out to places and destinations unknown, this is where his heart was most content.
He was blessed with two grandsons, and a granddaughter that were the love of his life. We know that Tim is at peace now and while we all miss him with every beat in our hearts we know we will see him again one day and we will do our best to honor his integrity and his passion for life and for his family as a beloved son, brother, and father to two daughters and two sons. He was “The Wind Beneath Our Wings,” and will forever be missed so much in the days to come.
He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd R. Woith and Mildred E. Woith, two brothers, Randy Lee Woith, infant, and Floyd Marlin Woith.
Survivors include one brother, Steve Woith of Prince George, Virginia; one sister, Chelda Christiansen of Amarillo; Daughters Shanae and Kimberley Woith both of Amarillo; Sons Robert and Michael Woith both of Van Buren, Arkansas. Two dearest best friends Brenda and Ricky Gann of Amarillo; Two grandsons Maysen and Camden French and One granddaughter Bryleigh Mae Lynne Stewart; and his beloved and longtime fur-baby companion, Angel.
