Truda Lou Thompson, 70, of Amarillo, Texas, passed from this life on February 20, 2025. Born on September 24, 1954, in Amarillo to Jeff and Dorothy Mitchell, Truda led a life filled with hard work and dedication. She was employed at Asarco, drove a school bus, and worked in retail, showcasing her commitment to both her career and her community. Truda had a passion for gardening, finding joy in nurturing her plants, and she found fulfillment in helping others. Her love for animals was evident in her kindness and compassion toward all living beings.
Truda is survived by her brothers, Guy Mitchell and wife Bonnie, and Wesley Mitchell and wife Darlene. She also leaves behind her beloved nephews: Chris Mitchell and wife Andrea, Keith Mitchell and wife Brenda, and Jeff Mitchell, alongside her niece, Danielle Nedham.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Gene Thompson, her mother, Dorothy Mitchell, her father, Jeff Mitchell, and her brother, Jeff Grady Mitchell. Truda will be remembered for her loving spirit, her strength, and her unwavering support for her family and friends. She touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
