Wanda Gail Willburn, 62, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on April 27, 2025.Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Funeral services will take place Friday, May 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the same location, with entombment to follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Wanda was born April 26, 1963, in Amarillo to Ben and Wanda Carriker. She graduated from Palo Duro High School and worked for United Supermarkets for 13 years at both the Soncy and Bell Street locations. She was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church on Willow Creek.
Wanda was known for her kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. Her family fondly remembers her as the inspiration for the saying, “You’ll be late to your own funeral.” She loved her family deeply—especially her grandchildren—and had a special place in her heart for animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Tommy Burgess and Ben Carriker.
She is survived by her children: Matthew Salazar and fiancé Lucia, Tiffany Hunter and husband Jason, Jessica Willburn and boyfriend Grant, and David Tanner Willburn; ten grandchildren; her siblings Ted Carriker, Fred Carriker, Lennie Burgess-Vaughn, Wilbert Burgess, and Pamela McMahan; and many loving friends.
Wanda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
