

Winston LeMond passed from this life and entered into the presence of Jesus on February 6, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born June 11, 1940 in Portales, NM to Claude and Eunice LeMond. He grew up in Devol, OK and graduated in 1958 from Granfield High school in Granfield, OK. He married Wanda Rodgers on August 10, 1962 in Erick, OK and they had three daughters.
After an on the job injury as a dedicated police officer in Dalhart, Texas, Winston had to change careers. In 1978, he moved to Amarillo where he enrolled in College and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science. He was a Computer Science Instructor at Amarillo College and TSTI for many years. He then went on and graduated from West Texas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts.
Winston was a man of few words. Other than God, his family was the most important thing to him. He loved spending time with them. He always found time to attend school and sports functions that his grandchildren were involved in. According to his grandchildren, he will always and forever be the man with the best looking hair.
In 2008 he moved to Lubbock where he married Hazel Kelly. They were like two kids in love. They enjoyed spending time together and they did a lot of traveling in the first few years of their marriage.
Prior to moving to Lubbock, he was a member of Fairview Assembly of God in Amarillo and was very active in the Men’s Ministry. After moving to Lubbock, he attended Vandelia Church of Christ where he and Hazel were active members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda LeMond of 41 years and a daughter Claudette. He is survived by his two daughters of Amarillo Jenna Tackett and husband Bryan and Angela Manning and husband Will. Five grandchildren and one great grandson. Three brothers Claude LeMond, Lawrence LeMond and Dale LeMond. His wife of 11 years, Hazel LeMond along with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
