Zola was born on October 6, 1924 on the family farm in Bushland, Texas to George Barnett Fogg and Ivory Pearl Watson Fogg.
Zola graduated from Amarillo High School. After living and working in California for several years, she returned to Amarillo and managed a bakery, a mini-golf and driving course, and mom-and-pop school store. She married Neil and they owned E-Way Sandwich catering business and well as a mobile home court. She enjoyed playing golf, collecting coins, butterflies, weaving, knitting, and home repairs/yard work. She sewed her own clothes, her husband’s shirts, and had a few dress clients.
She enjoyed decorating her home and repurposing old items. On retirement she and Neil moved back to the Bushland farmhouse. She enjoyed reminiscing about her early family life, including stories about riding horses to Bushland’s one-room school and jumping in whirlwinds while walking home.
Zola and Neil traveled a lot in an RV, making trips to each of the coasts, Mexico, and to the UK to visit his relatives.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the many caregivers from BSA Hospital, Vibra Rehab, Arbors Rehab, BSA Hospice and The Ware.
The family suggests memorial donations to Potter County for the Potter County Fire-Rescue Bushland Fire Station.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Neil Raymond Gross; sister Georgia Leola Fogg Fewell, brothers Joseph Adam, James Fred, Jack Barnett, and John Thomas Fogg.
She is survived by her sister Bessie Laverne Fogg Lott and many nieces and nephews. She was Aunt Zola to many generations of nieces and nephews.
