

Vezina, Sr., joined our Lord December 9, 2016.
Alban was born September 7, 1949, in Fall River, MA. He moved with his family in 1962 to Long Beach, CA, when his father joined the Long Beach Municipal Band as Solo Cornetist. He later moved to Cypress, CA and Anaheim.
Al graduated Robert A. Milliken High School in Long Beach. At Cypress College he performed as a tenor in many musicals. Following in his father’s musical footsteps, in 1972 he was accepted into the Marine’s Music Guarantee Program. He attended the Naval School of Music in Norfolk, VA which provided specialized training for selected personnel. He rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant/Bandsman and played trumpet, guitar, drums and was a vocalist at many of his deployments for military and civilian functions at Camp Pendleton, Paris Island, Iwakuni, Japan, and Camp Lejeune. While stationed in Okinowa, Japan in 1981, he suffered a brain aneurysm and was medivacd to the Naval Regional Med Center Balboa for surgery. After serving 11 years he was honorably discharged under a medical disability.
Alban continued to play guitar, writing and transposing music. He was a member of St. Irenaeus Parish in Cypress. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to discuss musicology and politics. He attended concerts at the Hollywood Bowl with his sister Arline, and enjoyed dining out with family.
He is survived by loving sister, Arline P. Vezina of Anaheim, CA and dedicated mother, Rita P. Kennann;
and his aunts Blanche (Mary) Parisee, N. Westport, MA and Theresa Vezina, Fairfax, VA.
He was the nephew of the late Rose/Ed Lesnick, Loretta McCormick, Irene/Frank Brady, Doris/Grover
Shurtleff, Bernadette Schmidt Debus, Leo/Charlette Parisee, Armand /Jean Parisee, Edward Parisee,
Peter/Ann Ross and Pauline/Wallace Tripp. Also many cousins in CA, MA, CT & NJ.
A vigil will be held at Funeraria del Angel Pierce Brothers in Anaheim, CA on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00m. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 8:30 am at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, Cypress, followed by a graveside at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, CA
