Grandma Dot,
It's unreal to me to have to write this. I always had it in my mind you'd be here forever. I wish that I didn't move so far away that I couldn't see you every day. My kids loved when you talked with them, I'm blessed that you were my Grandma. I remember when you would make spaghetti and make a special bowl for me, because I don't like sauce so you would heat mine up with only butter. Weekends were one of the best times in my life, spent at your house! Waking up in the morning to Poppops plate size pancakes and watching Angels games with you! Especially when you would tell me to be careful and to get out of the big tree in the yard. Or when you helped me babysit my younger cousin Alex. I wish I would have called you that day, I had a feeling to but didn't. I deeply regret it now. I know God needed you more, but you're deeply missed and still needed here. I love you and am so thankful you're my Grandma.

Dot....your joy-filled laugh that filled up a room, your heart warming smile and your loving demeanor will be truly missed here on Earth. However they will never be forgotten. I can not express in words how truly lucky I feel to have had a mother in law that I can only say incredible things about. You welcomed me into the family immediately and treated me as one of your own. Even more important to me is how incredible you were to my children....treating them as your own grandchildren and always asking about them when they weren’t around. For that I am eternally grateful that they got the pleasure of having you in their life. The only thing I truly regret is not having you in it for longer than the 8 and a half years that the kids and I did. I was honored to be there for your very last breathe on Earth and being part of the wonderful family that you created. Your memory will live on through everyone you touched and will be with me until my last breathe on Earth as well. Time for you to join the angels in heaven, laugh and smile with them and to continue to look after us all from there. I promise to take care of and love your baby girl forever. Great-Grandma,

The night you passed away, you came to me in my dreams. I was so happy to see you! We sat in your backyard and colored pictures, we put our feet in your pool. You talked with me for a long time and hugged me tight. Things won't be the same without you... Please continue to visit me in my dreams, I love you. 

My ONE and ONLY Grandmother:
As a little girl I remember my favorite day of the week was Sunday. Sunday was family day at Grandma & Grandpa's. All the cousins would be there to play while the adults sat around the kitchen table and cut coupons from the newspapers that Grandpa would buy for all of them. When I close my eyes Grandma, I can see you in the kitchen refilling coffee mugs, prepping supper for that night and letting us kids browse the "goody room" while we measured ourselves, seeing who was taller than you. I can hear the big clock in the dining room chiming on the hour and you yelling out the kitchen window for us to get off the swing set and wash up for supper. To me, that was my happy place. You were always kind and gentle towards me, I never got the wooden spoon! You have always been a woman I've looked up to, the kind of woman I knew I wanted to be. A wonderful mother, a faithfully devoted wife, modest, a skilled cook and a genuinely kind person. I remember so clearly as if it was yesterday, the day I called to tell you that you were going to be a Great-Grandmother. You had such joy in your voice. You asked if I was having a boy or a girl, I responded with..."I don't know yet, I want to be surprised. But if the baby is a girl, I want to name her Elisabeth, after your middle name, just spelled a little different." I could feel the smile on your face through the phone. I'm so happy I had a baby girl. My daughter was able to see you, talk with you, color pictures for you. She adores you. I've realized It didn’t take much to make you happy—a simple phone call to say "hello",  a card or a short weekend visit. I'm sorry there weren't more of those. I want you to know I love you so much. I'm glad that in your last days, I was able to be at your side. To hear and record recipes you thought would be good for me to share with Elisabeth. Those voice recordings have been comforting during this time. Forever in my heart, Rest In Peace Grandma, you deserve it. XOXO

Our condolences go out to Walt and the  entire Solverson family .  
Ron and I  had the pleasure of meeting  Mary , Alex and Dot through our kids 2nd year of west Anaheim little league. Dot was our teams score keeper.  Our families became instant  friends. Walt and Dot  both became grandparent figures to our sons.  We also shared wonderful times bowling together. Will definitely miss her kind heart,  contagious laugh and  the best macaroni salad ever!! 
You'll always have a special place in our hearts .

Dorothy Solverson was a nice and kind women who instantly invited me and my siblings to her family. The very first time I met her was a great day because she could have ingnored us because my dad just married Nancy Solverson her daughter and we were new to them but Dorothy instantly introduced herself and she started talking normally to us as if we were her actually grandchildren that knew her since we were little kids and from that day on I would never forget her for being friendly and kind hearted. 

My heart has been broken since Nancy text me with the news of Aunt Dot's passing. I know there is nothing that anyone can ever say to ease the pain or fill the emptiness the family feels, but please know that me and my family hold you closely in our hearts always and we are praying for you during this most difficult time. 

Even though you are a country away from us, I have always cherished each and every one of you. Some of my fondest memories in life were your summer visits to my grandmom's house, when you opened up your home to me and my Grandmom in 1984 for our visit to California, that you took the time to fly out here for my wedding, when you met us is Las Vegas not long after my dad died...and Wally, Mary and Nancy our impromptu visit in Las Vegas a few years back. 

My mom still tells the story about how she was excommunicated from the Catholic Church because there was no way she wasn't going to stand beside Uncle Walt when he married Aunt Dot.  Uncle Walt was the closest thing she ever had to a father and Aunt Dot was like a second mother....thus the start of my unending love for all of you. 

I'm sure my Grandmom was there when Aunt Dot entered heaven to embrace and welcome her. 

Please know you are in our hearts, our thoughts and our prayers.  May Aunt Dot forever Rest In Peace and May God watch over and hold your family close forever.

Grandma Dot,

It is so hard to express the plethora of emotions that come with your passing. Though, I understand that you are in a greater place exempt from pain. From the seven plus years I had known you, you adopted me and my brothers as your grandchildren instantaneously, and shared your unconditional love for us. I know my brothers and I truly appreciated it, and we will continue to share that same love for you. You truly embodied the kind and caring nature of an incredible grandmother. I wish we had more time to make many more memories together, but I also appreciate the time we did share. You never failed to bring a smile to anyone's face - including mine, especially when you used to call me "Talia".  I know I will continue to hold that smile you brought to my face when I think of the memories we created. I love you very much. Rest in Paradise.

Sending all my love to Walt, Nancy, Mary, Dottie, and Wally during this difficult time. I am so very sorry for the  loss in your hearts right now.  But I am extremely thankful that over 50 years ago my own father (Ed) and Walt met while serving in the Navy and our Navy family was born.  I will forever cherish the memories the ten of us made over the years during holidays,  summer cookouts, Friday and Saturday game nights, and our infamous Sunday dinners.  These moments would not have been the same without Dot. She was a beloved mother, wife, friend, and second mom to many (myself included).  She was a kind and generous woman who will be dearly missed, but she will continue to live in the hearts of all of us who love her so very much.

  I was Blessed to know you. You always had an open door policy and welcomed anyone and everyone. I remember So many times being at your home with Nancy and you were always laughing with us or even at us! I cant Think of Nancy without thinking of DOT! You were a special person. I still can’t believe you are not here with me. I miss you so much. I am blessed to call you my mother. You are one incredible person. You are the sweetest person I have ever known.   I am at peace with you and I am happy that you are with your Dad, Mom and loving sister but don’t think for one minute that I wouldn’t rather have you here by my side.  I will miss playing our crosswords puzzles.  The last 6 weeks of your life was tough but you were so strong and I was soooo proud of you.  I love you Mom.  Please watch over me and keep me safe until we see each other again. Xoxoxo. RIP MOM.
