Andrea J. Rose

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at Ankeny Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 26, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.

Andrea was born on September 7, 1945, in Denver, CO. She graduated from high school in South Sioux City, NE. On December 21, 1963, she and Russell A. Rose were united in marriage in Homer, NE. Throughout the course of Russ’ career they made their home in South Sioux City, Norfolk, NE, Denison, IA and Ankeny. Andrea’s primary joy was taking care of her family. She enjoyed reading, baking, traveling, and visiting with friends and family. She served on the school board in Denison for 9 years and remained active in educational affairs in subsequent years. Andrea was active in the Ankeny First United Methodist Church as well as ministries of the Johnston Evangelical Free Church.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband, daughters Robin (Kevin) Riggins of Urbandale, Rebecca (Greg) Clark of Worthington, MN, Kristin (Kevin) Melcher of Ankeny, Sarah (Mark) Ferree of Ankeny, Natalie (Jeff) Mitchell of DePere, WI, and Erica (Tim) Arganbright of Cedar Rapids, IA, and 14 grandchildren. Andrea was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Harshfield Frishman.
