Anita Mari Lucas, age 42, passed away September 13th, 2021 at her home in Des Moines, Iowa. Services will be held at the Ankeny Funeral Home on Sunday, September 19, 2021 with a visitation from 12 – 2pm and a funeral service at 2pm.
Anita was born April 2, 1979 in Des Moines Iowa to Luis Bermudez and Marcia (Feldman) Gardner. Anita previously worked for Walmart and Dollar Tree, however, she really enjoyed assisting her mom with the in-home daycare. Anita was a very outgoing and friendly; she was known to her friends and family as a social butterfly. She loved reading, coloring and watching movies, especially The Nightmare Before Christmas and anything by Tim Burton.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Gardner; two sons, Wyatt and Alex Nikolai; parents, Marcia (Michael) Gardner and Luis Bermudez; sister, Selina Bermudez, brother, Luis Bermudez; step-sisters, Gena Thompson and Tiffany Gardner; step-brothers, Michael Gardner, Jr,. and Adam Gardner; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; as well as her significant other, Ed Ransom. Anita was proceeded in death by her grandparents, and her nephew Taylor Bermudez.
