Kent grew up in Cambridge, Iowa and graduated from Ballard High School. Kent was a fanatic for Jeopardy and WWE Raw Wrestling.
Most of all, he loved watching his great-niece and great-nephew play sports. He was always giving them tips on the sports they would play.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sisters, Cathy (Tim McCoy) Kappos Stowe and Connie Kappos; niece, Renee (Matt) Stowe Albaugh; great-niece, Sydney Christine Albaugh; and great-nephew, Cooper Dean Albaugh.
A celebration of Kent’s life will be held at 5 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2017, at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First Street, with visitation one hour prior. Following the service, a celebration of life will continue from 7 p.m to 11 p.m. at Kippy’s Place (364 NW Main St.) in Elkhart.
