Dale Martin

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 4, 2017, at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First Street in Ankeny.

Dale Edmund Martin was born August 7, 1936, in Polk City, Iowa to Gaylord and Irene Martin. He grew up in Perry, Iowa where he received his education. On

January 19, 1958, Dale was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Devilbiss. The couple made their home in Ankeny and were blessed with four daughters; Connie, Bonnie, Linda, and Pamela.

Dale made his career with John Deere for 32 years as a gear cutter. His family were faithful members of the First Church of Christ in Ankeny. Dale also was a active member of the Za-Ga-Zig Shriners Temple and Logic Masonic Lodge 406 where he served as a 32nd degree and Past Master. Dale enjoyed adding to his rare coin collection and attending classic car shows. Most of all, Dale treasured spending time with his family.

Dale is survived by his daughters, Connie (Jeff) Burkett, Bonnie McFarland, Linda (Earl) Heger, and Pamela Martin; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenny Ray Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; parents, Gaylord and Irene Martin; and an infant son, Donald Martin.
