

Born on October 28, 1952, Deb was the beloved daughter of the late Benjamin and Maxine Davis of Spencer, Iowa. She grew up in both Osage and Spencer, IA and carried her Iowa roots with her throughout her life.
Deb dedicated her life to caring for others through her extensive and impactful career in nursing. She pursued her passion for healthcare, earning degrees from Drake University and Mercy School of Nursing. Her career began at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, where she served for 17 years. During her time at Mercy, Deb held various critical roles, including emergency department staff nurse, mobile intensive care nurse (MICN), physician designee (PD), and surgical intensive care staff nurse. Her pioneering spirit was evident when she was selected as a member of the investigational aero-medical research team for the launch of the emergency flight services program.
Following her tenure at Mercy, Deb continued to contribute her expertise to the healthcare field, serving for four years as a Home Health Case Supervisor at Interim Health, three years as the Director of Clinical Services at Intrepid Companies, and 15 years as an RN, Quality Improvement Advisor for Telligen. She also worked as a Clinical Health Coach at APS Healthcare and spent two years as a Case Manager at United Health Group. Her dedication to patient care and quality improvement left an indelible mark on countless lives.
Beyond her professional life, Deb was known for her vibrant personality and diverse interests. She had a remarkable talent for cooking and baking, delighting friends and family with her culinary creations. An adventurous spirit, Deb enjoyed hot air ballooning and embraced winter sports like snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
Deb was an active and devoted member of the Catholic Church. She possessed a legendary "gift of gab," a trait that ensured no phone call with her was ever short, and one that endeared her to many. She was a kind, independent, adventurous, loving, strong, and dedicated person. A true Iowa native, Deb was a passionate fan of college football, especially her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Maxine Davis of Spencer, IA.
She is survived by her loving brothers, Richard Davis and his wife Julie Nelson (Oregon), and Dan Davis and his wife Shannon Davis (New Jersey). She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in Ankeny, IA at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart with funeral mass to follow at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the ASPCA as Deb loved animals and rescued many in her lifetime.
