Karen Sue Cox, age 68, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at her home. Karen was born September 7, 1952, to Lawrence and Lola (Lewis) Beaty. She was known for being a strong, determined, hardworking lady who never seemed to slow down, as she was always on the go. Karen was a giving person and never wanted for anything. She always found a way to make ends meet and had an enormous love for her grandchildren and a deep passion for her great-grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bingo and loved her trips to Prairie Meadows Casino.
Left to cherish her memory include her four children, Debbie (Eddie) Rumbaugh, Cindy (Adam) Woodard, Ben Cox, and Brad Cox (Calley Cortez); 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Danny, Eddie, Greg, Roger, and Allen Beaty; and sister, Brenda Landman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Howelton.
