Margaret “Peg” Ann Moreland, 92, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022 at St. Mary’s Holy Cross Church in Elkhart. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s in Elkhart with burial at Elkhart Cemetery.
Peg was born April 12, 1930 to James and Pearl McGill in rural Farrar, IA where she went to Farrar school graduating in the class of 1947. After graduating she worked at Bankers Life and Employees Mutual Casualty before marring Beryl Moreland October 28, 1950 at St. Ambrose Cathedral. They moved to a farm near Farrar where they lived in the area the rest of their life.
Peg and Beryl purchased a school bus in the 1960’s and drove for Bondurant schools until 1972. She also raised a large garden of vegetables and later sold them at farmers markets. Peg always cooked enough for guests and grandkids always asked for her noodles.
They raised their four sons, Edward (Joyce), Alan (Pam), Daniel and Dean, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Beryl in 1990; sons, Edward in 2007 and Dean in 2015; sister, Kathleen Kimberley; and brother, Dick McGill.
