Mary Beth Nutt, 60, passed away unexpectedly on March 14, 2022. Mary was born on January 30, 1962, to Martha Jean and Jack Laverne Cook in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended Des Moines North High and it was there that she met her high school sweetheart Tim Nutt whom she married on June 27, 1981.
Throughout Mary’s life she enjoyed many hobbies such as camping, boating, gardening and most importantly spending time with family. Mary's infectious personality lit up any room she walked into. She lived life to the fullest and never knew a stranger. Mary loved music and enjoyed attending concerts with her sisters. She loved friends like family and loved her family with every fiber of her soul. Mary and Tim were blessed with 3 children Jason, Amy and Katie. In addition to her children, she had her “puppy mafia” Gus, Duke and Champ.
Mary is survived by her husband of 40 years Tim Nutt, her 3 children Jason Nutt (Jennifer), Amy Hilson (Adell) and Katie Nutt, her siblings Guy Cook (Cindi), Fred Cook (Lynette) Nancy Travis (Bryce), Theresa Jorgenson (Rob), her mother-in-law Janet Nutt, her sister-in-law Tammy Phillips (Mike). She is also survived by her grandchildren Adell Hilson Jr., Deavin Hilson, Keondre Newman, Selicia Newman, Abrianna Hilson, Dayshanae Hilson, Jackson Nutt, Wyatt Nutt and many more family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother Martha Jean and her father Jack Lavern Cook, her father-in-law Fredrick Nutt, brother-in-law Fredrick Nutt Jr., her two best friends Dawn Minson, Laura Trotter and her beloved dog Max.
Visitation and funeral will be held at Ankeny Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 19. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the funeral service will start at noon.
