

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady’s of the Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, 510 E 1st St, Ankeny, IA 50021. There will be a visitation one hour before the service at the church. Immediately following the service there will be a luncheon at the church. Burial will be held at Allison Cemetery in Allison, Iowa at 3:00 p.m. If you're attending the burial please meet at Trinity Reformed Church in Allison, Iowa for the procession to the cemetery. Following the burial there will be a time of food and fellowship at Trinity Reformed Church, 614 Cherry Street, Allison, Iowa 50602.
Michael was born on May 19, 1970, to parents Wayne and Kathleen (Barry) Busch in Downers Grove, Illinois. He attended Downers Grove Schools up to fourth grade, then Western Branch Schools in Chesapeake, Virginia, through ninth grade, and graduated from Denison High School in Denison, Iowa. He furthered his education at Iowa State University. He earned an associate degree in science from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs. He also earned his commercial driver’s license through Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny.
Mike was a warehouse distribution driver and sales display installer for Hallmark stores in Kansas City. He was also a building materials delivery driver for 23 years at Gilcrest/Jewett Lumber Company in Ankeny and Altoona.
As a child, Mike loved playing baseball and was an excellent pitcher, serving up several shutout games. He enjoyed family gatherings which often included driving a go cart and a farm truck on lanes and pastures with cousins. He also had fun playing video games with his nephews. His life passion was rebuilding and restoring vehicles, particularly a 1970s Pontiac Trans Am and a 1980s Chevy Silverado.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Busch and grandparents, George and Marie Busch, Edward and Elizabeth Barry, and Annamae and Harold Mitchell. He is survived by his mother, Kathleen; sister, Lisa Baumhover (Neil); and niece, Allison and nephews, Joseph and James Baumhover.
