Nellie E. McGregor

NELLIE MCGREGOR Ankeny Nellie McGregor, 91, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 2110 W. 1st Street, Ankeny, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date in Los Gatos, California. Nellie was born November 9, 1919 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Donald Roy McGregor in 1941. Through their married life they traveled extensively with Don’s work as a mining engineer. They settled in Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon Don’s death, Nellie moved to Huxley, Iowa in 1993. She served in her community and was a very bright woman who was well read. She is loved by all of her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ron (Donna) McGregor, and Mike (Becky) McGregor; grandchildren, Rudy (Tiffany) Carrizales, Mollie McGregor, Zac (Stacie) McGregor, Heather (Josh) Marian, Valentine (Kendra) Mojica, April (Angel) Gaxiola, Lisa McGregor, and Kevin (Jackie) McGregor; and great-grandchildren, Destiny, Cierra, Terri, Kayla, KJ, and Dasia McGregor, and Nevaeh, Lila, and Makoa Gaxiola. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don, parents, Joseph and Nellie Cupples; brothers, Scotty and Riley Cupples; and sister, Joanna Espersen.
