

Patrick W. Allison, age 70, quietly earned his wings on January 8, 2017. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00p.m., Friday, January 13, 2017 at Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. First St. Ankeny, IA 50023). Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Bethany New Life Christian Fellowship (3565 NE 56th St. Altoona,IA). Burial will follow at Oralabor Cemetery in Ankeny.
Pat was born February 22, 1946 in Mason City, IA to Norman and Harriet (Sheridan) Allison. He was a 1964 Graduate of Newman High School. After high school he attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. He married Kathleen Webner in 1968. They had 6 children and later divorced.
During his business career he worked at Dial Finance and Capital City State Bank as Branch Manager and at Bankers Trust as a loan officer. In 1983 he started working for Deere Employees Credit Union as a loan officer. They later merged with Veridian Credit Union, from where he retired in 2004. After retirement Pat worked part-time at Iowa Student Loan until 2013. Pat was well known and liked in the business world. His wife said everywhere they went; there was someone that knew him and would stop to visit.
He loved sports and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He was a baseball coach for several little league teams. Pat was an AAU basketball coach for the Dallas Center-Grimes school district. He was a Hall of Fame member of the Professional Musician & Entertainers Club of Iowa.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife Barbara Combs-Allison and 6 children: Sara (James) French of Dacula, GA; Kimberly Allison of Dallas Center, IA; Zachary (Sarah) Allison of Hubbard, IA; Lucas Allison of Blue Springs, MO; Marcus (Amanda) Allison of Kansas City, MO; Rebekah (Kim) Allison of Liberty, MO and two step-sons, Max (Doreen) Combs of Las Vegas, NV; and Raymond (DaLynda) Combs of Hot Springs, AR. He also leaves 2 brothers; Anthony (Dorothy) Allison of Mason City, IA and Greg (Kaye) of Clear Lake, IA. Pat had 14 grandchilren, 5 step-grandchildren and a large extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents.
