Patty Ann Dorman

Patty Ann Dorman, 89, passed away suddenly in her home following seven months of hospice care for pancreatic cancer on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Patty was born on October, 24, 1934 to Clyde Wilbur Rose and Sarah Jane Rose (Wall) in Guthrie Center, Iowa.

Patty Ann Dorman attended Guthrie Center High school and graduated in 1953. After high school, Patty married the love of her life, Roland E. Dorman on August 28, 1955 in Guthrie Center, Iowa. Patty began her working career at Bankers Life. After working for Bankers Life, Patty worked at Ardan’s Department Store and later worked at Mid Continent Bottlers. Patty worked and retired from HyVee. Patty was an avid member of her church, Ankeny Christian Church.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Roland E. Dorman; her parents, Clyde Wilbur and Sarah Jane Rose; her brother, Max Antrim; and her sister, Norma J. Coffman

Patty was survived by her daughters, Janell Kooiker (Quentin) of Collins, Iowa, and Jolene Doll (Greg) of Altoona, Iowa; her son, Steven Dorman of Billing, Montana; her grandchildren, Nicole Williams (Mark) of Altoona, Iowa, Shawna Baker (Cliff) of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Ryan Nelson (Jennifer) of Marshalltown, Iowa, David Brunk (Tina) of Des Moines, Iowa, Sara Gibson (Bobby Harwell) of Altoona, Iowa, Megan Christensen (Brandon) or Urbandale, Iowa, Mallory Brunk of Altoona, Iowa, James Dorman (Michela) of Billings, Montana, Jessica Dorman of San Clemente, California, Jayce Dorman (Aleah) of Billings, Montana; She was blessed with many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews as well as wonderful friends and neighbors.

Services for Patty will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Ankeny Christian Church. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and Patty’s funeral service will be held Monday, September 16, 2024 at 12:00 pm. The family would like to invite you to a luncheon at Ankeny Christian Church following Patty’s service. Patty’s graveside service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Union Cemetery in Guthrie Center, Iowa.
