Rodney James Monroe, 56, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2019, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery (34024 Veterans Memorial Dr., Adel, IA 50003).
Rodney was born in Valparaiso, Indiana, to James and Zelda (Marchant) Monroe. He graduated from Perry High School and joined the United States Army. Rodney loved to read, watch Jeopardy and spend time with his nieces and nephews.
Rodney is survived by his sisters, Brenda Michael and Sharon Carmichael; brother, Tim Monroe; brother-in-law, Michael Michael; nephews, David Monroe, Miles Michael, Matt Carmichael, Mikie Michael, Zach Carmichael, John Carmichael and Dwight Brown; nieces, Mindy Brown and Jennifer Monroe; great nephew Roman Michael; and great nieces, Nevaeh Monroe, Arianna Monroe, Lorena Leiva and Catalina Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents.
