

Ann D. DiDonato, age 87, of Ann Arbor, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on January 6, 2017. Born Ann Delores LaPrad on April 20, 1929 in Monroe, Michigan, she was the fifth child of William and Hazel Laprad. She married her high school sweetheart William DiDonato in 1949. She loved and cherished him until his death in 1993. Ann is survived by her children: Mary (Marcel) Normand, Ann (John) Reynolds, Patty DiDonato, Bill DiDonato, Nick (YoonJoo) DiDonato, Blaise (Rosemary) DiDonato, Angel (the late Barry) DiDonato, and Tina (Rob) White; daughter-in-law Sue DiDonato; sister: Katie Hoard; 36 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William B.; son Anthony; daughter Cindy; grandsons Robert and Johnathon as well as nine siblings. Ann was an expert seamstress, cook and gardener. She enjoyed birdwatching and was an avid sports fans, particularly a Tigers super fan. But first and foremost she was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother, joyfully welcoming each new addition to her family as if it were the first. After raising ten children, she brought up 2 grandsons Vincent and Robert. Her home was a welcoming place to all. She was a woman of amazing strength, courage, energy and perseverance and her never failing faith in God carried her through many trials in her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Visitation Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 4:30 until 8:00 p.m. (with a rosary recitation at 7:00 p.m.) at Muehlig Funeral Home, 403 South Fourth Avenue, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104. Visitation continues on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the Mass of the Resurrection at 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 530 Elizabeth Street, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104. Following Mass, the final commendation and committal will be at Old St Patrick Cemetery, 5671 Whitmore Lake Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. In appreciation for all of the kindnesses extended to the family, they have arranged for a luncheon at St. Thomas Catholic Church immediately following the cemetery committal service.
