Richards, Frederick William “Bill” age 84 died Friday, August 10, 2012. Bill was born June 24, 1928 in Albany, New York, the son of Frederick and Mildred Richards. He lived for many years throughout the United States, Germany and England with his wife and family while working for the Army Air Force Exchange System and then retired to Marquette, Michigan in 1987, moving to Ann Arbor in 1991 to be closer to his children. His beloved wife, Brunie, whom he married in 1953 preceded him in death on April 16, 2011. Bill loved to be surrounded by family and friends and reminisce about his family’s exploits and travels. He will be remembered as an avid reader and a wicked card player with a great sense of humor who loved to tell jokes. Known to enjoy his evening martinis (extra olives, please), and his morning jelly donuts, he will mostly be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind his loving daughters and their husbands, Janet and Lloyd Bloom and Linda and Michael Diebolt; his granddaughter, Elspeth Bloom; sister, Ruth (Jerry) Harris; nephews, Kevin and Brian (Isabella) Harris. Bill was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister Jane. The family will greet friends at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, August 13 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church of Ann Arbor.
