Last night’s verse in my devotional is perfect for the way my brother Duncan lived his life.  Micah 6:8
“...what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
He wished everyone the best of everything and meant it. He and I were the quiet  introverts in our family. His railroad club friends were his family most of his adult life. But the love and joy of his life came late in life and was all the more precious.  The  almost 15 years of marriage were the happiest of his life. I had wished them many more! Florence is beloved by all our family who knows her. My regret had been that his brother and our parents had passed away before they could have known Florence and the joy she brought him. He is telling them now. One day he will have the joy of introducing them and my mom will smile and welcome her with the love and welcoming arms, that same heart to heart, spirit to spirit connection I felt meeting Florence for the first time. Every photo I have of Duncan and Florence around our  house shows their love and joy together. It hurts my heart that they are separated physically now.  My prayers and condolences to my much loved sister Florence. 

To Mrs. Kauffman and family,
Anyone could tell from the beautiful smile he kept on your face that you and Mr. Kauffman were enjoying being in the house of the Lord each Sunday, and being together. My heart breaks that the team is split up on this side of Jordan. I am encouraged by the way that you shared love with each other and everyone who came in your presence, including my grandmother. Peace and blessings to you. Leslie McGraw and family.

I was very sad to hear of Duncan's passing. I've known him for over 40 years. As a Director in the Mid-Michigan Railway Historical Society, I also wish to express our group's condolences ... Duncan was a member of the MMRHS for many years. I recall his pleasant company at the many logging sessions on Harold Allen's 12” gauge live-steam operation in Ann Arbor. Duncan was a frequent operator on my HO model train layout in Flint. We also attended several HCEA meets in Bowling Green, OH. He and I had been planning on attending the big NAMES engineering show this month, but of course that has now been cancelled. I will miss him, frequently. May he RIP! ... I express my sympathy to his wife, Florence.

How sad! Duncan was a nice guy, and it was always a pleasure to spend a few minutes conversing with him about whatever he'd been upto. I will greatly miss discussing the O-scale tank car he always brought to sell at the train shows he attended.

 It's funny - and although I am not really any type of O-scale modeler - I had often considered buying it from him, but then always wondered what he would have to sell?

RIP Duncan, and my sympathy to your family!

I am saddened to learn of the passing of my old friend Duncan. We met at Rider's Hobby Shop way back in the late '60s, and he was very instrumental in cultivating my interest in model railroading, and getting me involved with the Ann Arbor Model Railroad Club. I regret that it has been way too many years since I last saw or spoke with Duncan, but I will always remember him as a kind, gentle, and caring friend. Florence, I regret that we have never met, but I offer to you my sincere and heartfelt condolences as you pass through this very difficult time. I will be remembering you in my thoughts and prayers, and I pray that God grants you peace and understanding like you've never known before.

Good bye Duncan, dear friend of so many years.    I valued our friendship throughout the years.    You always supported me in my journey through life and that meant a lot to me.     May you rest in peace and know that you were loved in your life here on earth.

I am most saddened to learn of Duncan’s passing. He and I were train buddies since the late 60’s. I will deeply miss his friendship. Condolences to Florence.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Duncan's passing.  Duncan was a wonderful friend to my parents and to us.  He was truly one of the nicest and most caring persons we have known.  Our condolences to Florence.
